Amphora pipes came from the Dutch Gubbels factory, better known for Big Ben, and survive in far smaller numbers than the tobacco tins that made the name familiar. This X-tra 815 is a proper Poker with a flat-bottomed bowl that allows it to sit upright between smokes. The long shank and level profile give it a clean, functional character that suits the shape. The pipe measures 5.81 inches long, with a 0.70-inch chamber opening and a chamber depth of 1.30 inches. The pipe is stamped “AMPHORA”; “X-tra”; “815”.
