Butz-Choquin traces its roots to 1858 and is one of the enduring names of Saint-Claude, the centre of French briar-pipe production. The Regate 1402 is a tall straight Dublin with a gently flared bowl and a clean six-inch profile. This example retains its original sock and offers a classic French shape from a maker with more than a century and a half of history. The pipe measures 6.05 inches long, with a 0.79-inch chamber opening and a chamber depth of 1.54 inches. The pipe is stamped “Butz Choquin”; written as “Regate”; “St Claude France”; “1402”.
