Being a mechanically-inclined person, I was immediately drawn to the Engine Piston Pipe Tamper. It's pretty sharp looking however, not that practical simply because the Wrist-Pin is sloppy so it's a bit difficult to control the tamping end which is the Only reason I don't give it 5 Stars. However again, it is the largest diameter tamper I have at 15.4mm. The total length is 42mm which also has it's limitations if for example, you are tamping a Peterson System Standard XL 315 and are getting anywhere near the bottom of the bowl.
Overall I really like it as a novelty item and I do often use it for tamping after the initial or Charring light. Beyond that I'm more apt to use a longer tamper. Everyone should have one, just for the heck of it. Furthermore, it fits in a pocket or you Pipe "Go-Bag" better than any other Tamper.
