This particular piece, stamped “Harcourt Hand Carved Denmark”, is designated with the highest grade “D”, denoting superior grain, shaping, and finish. The pipe features a bold Danish freehand form with a sweeping shank, broad plateau rim, and a deep, rounded bowl in warm golden grain. The flame grain and birdseye across the bowl and heel are exceptional—showcasing Holm’s instinctive shaping around the block.
