"The White Mountain Sheep — (Ovis canadensis dalli)
The sheep inhabits the mountain territories in Alaska, Yukon and northern British Columbia.
The ram weighs about 100–120 kg. and can live to attain an age of 16 to 18 years.
The sheep feeds on grass, moss and roots in the alpine grass-land above the timber line. However, snow and ice can force the sheep down into valleys where it is easier to find food.
Horns against horns the rams fight vigorous rutting struggles.
Bears and wolves are natural enemies.
The white mountain sheep is a popular hunting prey—because of its hide and horns.
Dear Erik Nørding.
A pipe inspired by the beautiful horns of the white mountain sheep will bring about a stylish Hunter’s Pipe 2012—owing to both the slightly edged and also soft shape of the horns.
