The 80s is Peterson’s heavier, bent Bulldog shape — broad bowl, strong lines, and a thick diamond shank that carries as much presence as the bowl itself. It has the same compact, low profile seen in the 999 Rhodesian, including the paired beadlines around the rim, but with a diamond shank instead of round. It’s the bent counterpart to the straight 150 Bulldog, giving the same classic look but with a more relaxed, jaw-friendly bend. It’s a traditional Bulldog with the unmistakable Peterson heft and feel.
Peterson has made filter-capable pipes since the late 1940s, and their wide shanks make it easy to offer the same shapes in either filtered or non-filtered versions without changing the proportions. The Dublin Filter line has been their main 9mm offering since 1997, and in 2021 they introduced the Army Filter series. That pairing combines a 9mm filter drilling with an army-style mount, letting the stem be removed even while warm. Each Army Filter pipe uses a shaped nickel mount for strength and contrast, and the Heritage finish adds a rich, warm, smooth stain. Peterson’s charcoal filters are available in 40- and 150-count packs.
