Stanwell’s Pipe of the Year series gave notable Danish designers room to create a distinctive annual shape, and the 1986 edition was designed by Tom Eltang before his later international prominence as an artisan maker. That connection gives this pipe more significance than an ordinary Stanwell production shape. This example remains complete with its original box, sock and papers, a major advantage for a dated collector piece. The pipe measures 5.08 inches long, with a 0.71-inch chamber opening and a chamber depth of 1.42 inches. The pipe is stamped “Stanwell 1986”.
