This Amphora X-tra comes from Gubbels’ Dutch production and uses the long oval shank and short saddle stem of the Canadian shape. It is new old stock with its original sock, an uncommon level of preservation for a brand whose pipes were generally bought to be used. The complete Made in Holland stamping and untouched chamber make it especially appealing as a vintage factory piece. The pipe measures 5.75 inches long, with a 0.70-inch chamber opening and a chamber depth of 1.41 inches. The pipe is stamped “AMPHORA”; “X-tra”; “731-651”; “Genuine Briar”; “Amphora-Holland”.
