Brigham Enterprises CXX Gratus 6 x 52 Toro

Brigham Enterprises is celebrating its 120th anniversary with two special releases: a limited-production made by Artista and an anniversary pipe tobacco created by Cornell & Diehl. Both are called CXX Gratus—a combination of CXX, the Roman numeral for 120, and gratus, a Latin word expressing gratitude.

The CXX Gratus is a 6 x 52 toro extra featuring a Kentucky fire-cured wrapper over an Indonesian Sumatra binder. Its filler blend includes tobaccos from Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. Brigham developed the cigar alongside Radhames “Ram” Rodriguez and the team at Tabacalera El Artista.

The blend was designed to change noticeably as it is smoked. It opens with brighter fruit notes before gradually moving toward deeper flavours of espresso, earth, chocolate and spice. That transition reflects Brigham’s own journey—from a pipe company that also carried cigars to a cigar-focused business that remains proud of its pipe-making roots.

The initial release is limited to 5,000 units, packaged in cellophane bundles of 10. Brigham hopes CXX Gratus will continue beyond the anniversary release and is already planning a 2027 production presented in 20-count boxes.
