Martel is one of those estate-pipe names for which little reliable history has survived, making the pipe itself more important than a speculative brand story. This is a compact briar with a small chamber and an overall length under five inches—well suited to a shorter smoke or an easy pocket pipe. It is stamped simply Martel, with no additional maker attribution claimed. The pipe measures 4.83 inches long, with a 0.71-inch chamber opening and a chamber depth of 1.42 inches. The pipe is stamped “Martel”. It looks like it may have been smoked twice. No visible char other than faint marks in the bottom half of the bowl.
