Private Cellar: 2022 Cornell & Diehl Haunted Bookshop

Haunted Bookshop is a classic Burley-led mixture created by Bob Runowski, with Virginia and a touch of Perique. Its character is direct and tobacco-forward: Burley supplies an earthy, nutty body, Virginia adds modest sweetness, and Perique brings a small peppery lift. There is no heavy aromatic flavoring to conceal the leaf, so the blend’s pleasure lies in how those simple parts work together. In a sound 2022 tin, a few years of rest may have brought the Perique and Virginia into a smoother relationship with the Burley.
