Private Cellar: 2022 Peterson Nightcap

Nightcap is a rich English mixture built from Virginia, Oriental tobacco, Latakia, and a small amount of Perique. Latakia gives it a pronounced smoky, savory character, while the Orientals add dry, fragrant spice. Virginia provides some underlying sweetness, and the Perique adds a subtle darker, peppery accent. Among the three Peterson blends on your list, this is the fullest and most assertive. A well-sealed 2022 tin may taste more blended and rounded than a fresh one, though its smoky character should remain central.
